The Other Side Disco and Ye Olde Playhouse were operated by Wayne Caldwell of Caldwell Diversified Systems, Inc. Advertisements for The Other Side Disco claimed it was one of the largest gay discos in the Southeast, and noted that it was a “butch cruise bar,” meaning no men in “female attire” would be permitted to enter.
